Hawick RFC are almost guaranteed to finish fourth in the Kings of the Sevens series that culminates at Jed Forest on Saturday, but the Greens will go all out to win their third tournament this year.
The Mansfield Park side have been paired with Edinburgh side Heriots, while their Teri neighbours YM have drawn reigning Jed Sevens champions Melrose, who aiming to stave off a rampant Watsonians in the race for ‘Kings’ runners-up.
Sonians emerged victorious from Selkirk Sevens at the weekend, their third title of the current series, and will face Kelso at Riverside Park, while already-crowned ‘Kings’ champions Jed, the hosts, will play Berwick.
Should they overcome Heriots, Hawick will play Edinburgh University or Langholm in the quarter final, where they would face Jed, Berwick, Gala or Edinburgh Accies.
All the action in the final sevens tournament of the season kicks off at 1.30pm on Saturday.
