RUGBY legend David Campese
has been signed up for a special lunch at Mansfield Park in May.

The event, which is being hosted by the Bill McLaren Foundation and Hawick RFC, will see Campese giving his views on the forthcoming British and Irish Lions tour to Australia, and will also include top Australian comic and MC for the afternoon, Justin Karcher, as well as a raffle and auction.

Looking ahead to the occasion, Greens president Rory Bannerman said: “Hawick Rugby Club are thrilled that one of Bill McLaren’s favourites is gracing us with his company, and it will be a memorable and entertaining day. Where else can you get such a rugby hero, lunch and auction for under £50? It really is great value for money.”

Campese said: “I’m delighted to be in Scotland as part of my UK tour and am thrilled to be supporting the Bill McLaren Foundation. I understand that there may be former British Lions in attendance at Mansfield I’m really looking forward to it.”

Tickets for the event, which takes place on Sunday, May 12, are £45 (including a three-course lunch and welcome drink), and are available from John Thorburn at john@billmclarenfoundation.co.uk or on 07929 655132.
