Roxburgh Reivers Orienteering Club hit the high spots with several podium places at Sunday’s combined Scottish and UK league counter at Glasgow Green.

Competing in what was billed as a pre-Commonwealth Games urban race, which took in the parkland, university grounds and city centre, Faisal Khursheed came back in first place in M16 with Patrick Heger taking second position. Patrick now sits fourth in the UK league. Yousuf Khursheed finished third on M14.

The ladies also ran well with Eileen Maxwell and Lindsey Knox both finishing second in their age classes and both now head the UK league. Eileen lies second in the Scottish league. Kirstin Maxwell followed up her third place in the May Bank Holiday urban race in Kendal with runner-up spot on the women’s elite to leave her second in the UK league and third in the Scottish league.

Next up for the local club are the Scottish Championships in Perthshire on Sunday, then the British Championships in Northumberland on May 31.
