National Division Three
LINDEN maintained their recent good form with a comprehensive victory over their visitors from Aberdeen.
Played on a very soft pitch, a creditable six tries were scored, though this could have been more with sharper delivery from ruck and maul.
Linden controlled play early on and a couple of difficult penalties were missed by Gavin Stirling. But with almost 30 minutes gone a powerfull drive by prop Gary Warlde was taken on by Keith Mabon and centre Steven Bouglas finished off in style as he jinked through a bemused defence to score. Stirling converted.
Gordonians replied with a penalty. But with Craig Smith to the fore, Linden were back on the attack, and after good work from Ben Gilchrist, Craig Mitchell, Wardle and Michael Graham, Adam Hall went over for a debut try.
After the turn around it was all Linden and following good running by Graham and Bouglas, the ball was driven over by the forwards and Kevin Brown emerged with ball in hand to score.
Wardle was next to score after a good break from the lineout by Barrie Keown.
And from the kick off Bouglas caught the ball deep in his own half and raced through the Gordonians defence, handing off the covering full-back to score under the posts. Stirling added the conversion.
The final try came after a kcik through from Graham and when the defence failed to clear, Scott inton gladly took advantage to touch down.
Some sloppy defending allowed Gordonians to pick up consolation try in dying minutes of game.
