Senior Ladies’ Open (July 23): Glorious weather, an excellent entry from clubs in the Borders, East Lothian, Northumberland and the Central Belt, as well as some fine golfing performances, made this year’s event a memorable one. Marilyn Adams scored her second Minto triumph of the week, winning the individual competition salver with the excellent 41 Stableford points, following on from her Millennium Trophy victory last Sunday. Playing with Jane Jones and Linda Murray from Bellingham, Marilyn also took the spoils in the team competition by an impressive seven points victory from Trish Kirkpatrick and Lesley Manson, both Minto, and Doreen Lillico, Torwoodlee.

Forthcoming special event (Friday, August 8 at 4.30pm): The club is delighted that Lord Minto will officially open Jock’s Brig – the bridge on the third hole which is named after former club captain Jock Rae, whose generosity enabled the construction of this fine addition to the course.
