ALTHOUGH being forced into several changes from the side that recorded a morale-boosting win the previous weekend, Teviotdale still had enough in their locker to edge past Berwickshire by 79 shots to 77 at the Swan Centre in Berwick on Saturday.

After seven of the 21 ends, the home side were ahead by 29 shots to 25. However, the lead had changed hands after 14 heads with the Teries two shots in front (51-49) and winning on three of the four individual matches. The completion of 18 ends saw Teviotdale maintaining their slight advantage at 67-64, and still being in front in three games. Over the closing stages, both sides added 12 shots to their total but it was the visitors who remained in front to secure an excellent win in their first national league match against the Berwickshire side on their own carpet.

On the day, the Teviotdale squads won one individual match and drew two, with one squad losing out. Top squad on the day comprised John Darling, Dennis Poloczek, Andrew Kyle and Chris Macdougall (skip).
