The final home game of the Teviotdale gents’ season was played on Saturday against the Headwell club, of Dunfermline, and after six of the 21 ends the hosts had raced into 15-shot lead and were still eight ahead after 12 heads.
However, the visitors altered the length of the jack and mat and went on to take a 13-shot advantage after 18 ends, afterwhich the concluding three ends across the green saw Teviotdale outscore their opponents by 16 shots to 11, but it was the Fife men who won by eight shots.
