A QUARTET of swimmers from Hawick High were in competitive action at last Wednesday’s Scottish schools relay at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.

The opening swim for the first-year girls was the medley relay with Lisa Murphy first with backstroke, then Rhiann Ferguson with breaststroke, Emma Suddon with butterfly and Chloe Scott the front crawl. The girls didn’t make the final eight but did finish a creditable 12th out of 28 schools.

In the afternoon, the young Teries swam in the freestyle relay and again did well by finishing 11th out of 25 teams.

A great experience for the girls who all swam well.
