MINTO Golf Club’s Tara Mactaggart has been crowned South of Scotland girls’ champion.
The teenager stormed Southerness Golf Club on Saturday to take the title.
On what was a sunny and dry day, conditions were made incredibly difficult by an extremely strong wind.
But it was Mactaggart who coped the best with impressive rounds of 80 and 74 to take the honours, five shots ahead of runner-up Dani Ker from the Roxburghe.
Tara’s victory means that in the last seven years three of the champions, including Emma Fairnie and Lesley Atkins, have all started their golfing careers at Minto.
