Hawick and Wilton rounded off their promotion-winning season with a six-wicket victory at Livingston on Saturday.
Opening bowlers Neil Storey and Pierce Solley found the ideal start with a wicket each to reduce the hosts to 33 for two.
A partnership of 34 between Jarvis and Anwar saw the home side rebuild their innings, before Anwar was out after Gary Alexander took a sharp caught-and-bowled opportunity. The latter then claimed his second wicket in a tight spell (2-14) to leave Livi on 87 for four.
Ronan Alexander got in on the act with three wickets, including the dangerous Jarvis, who made a vital 55 for the hosts. Storey came back into the attack to collect two more wickets, after which Morgan Tait helped ensure there was no late flurry with a wicket of his own as the home side posted 121 all out.
In reply, Hawick got off to a dreadful start as they lost Ronan Alexander in the second over. Storey and Gary Alexander helped steady the ship and took the score to 28, at which point the former was caught. Allan Moffat joined Alexander senior and they relieved any pressure with a match-winning partnership of 78, before both batsmen were out with the score on 106 after contributing 42 and 36 respectively.
Euan Hair (11) and skipper Phil Mactaggart (1) got the visitors over the line with plenty time to spare to bring the curtain down on what has been a very successful season for the club, as thoughts now turn to next season’s East of Scotland Division 5 campaign.
