Hawick Superbike ace Stuart Easton has vowed to come out fighting at Oulton Park this weekend as he bids to claim his first podium finish of the season, writes Alexander McLeman.
The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider, who sits joint fourth following round one at Brands Hatch last month, told the Hawick News: “I’m feeling good for the race this weekend at Oulton Park, it is one of my favourite circuits and one I have finished well at on a number of occasions.
“We had a good test day last week on the track, which will set us up nicely for the race and hopefully get us the result we are all aiming for.”
Early pacesetter Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, Easton’s Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki teammate, leads the standings, and the Teri rider says good performances early in the season are pivotal if he is to be challenging for the British Superbike title.
“My aim is to win every race I enter but podiums at this stage are crucial and building the points up to gain a strong championship position.
“I’m joint fourth in the standings right now and a good result this weekend can only get me closer to where I want to be.”
