Bowlers set for Jed challenge

The following five-rink Wilton Bowling Club side will take on Jedburgh in this afternoon’s challenge match at the leisure centre:

Rink one – G. Patterson, K. Lyle, B. Jaffray and C. Macdougall (skip). Rink two – G. Hughes, D. Smart, K. McCartney and W. R. Paterson (skip) Rink three – A. Taylor, J. Elliot, M. Notman and G. Brownlee (skip). Rink four – A. Dickson, B. Stormont, J. Smyth and S. Anderson (skip). Rink five – J. Graham, J. Szoneberg, R. Brady and D. Macdougall (skip). Reserves – C. Cook, A. Waugh. Following the bowls, there will be a bite to eat and dominoes at the West Stewart Place clubrooms. Wilton players (casual dress) to be at the leisure centre for 11.45am.

The second session of the Wednesday mixed league will commence on January 7; with the Friday nights starting on January 9; and the pub league resuming on Sunday, January 11.

On Saturday, a good number of members and friends of Wilton took part in the annual mixed dominoes evening, at which the winner of the singles was Oliver Gibson; runner-up, Bill Jaffray. In the pairs, the winners were Donald Robertson and R. Paterson; runners-up, Sheila Clyne and Duncan Macdougall.

Teviotdale’s senior bowlers have arranged a friendy at home to Tweedbank on Wednesday, January 7. Names on the sheet at TLC.
