The Hawick clubs young golfers with junior convenor Alan Reid at last Fridays presentation night

Last Friday’s junior presentation night at the Vertish Hill clubrooms saw the Hawick club’s younger members being recognised for their efforts, with Aiden Oldham, in particular, receiving warm plaudits as the winner of three competitions and the order of merit title.

Among the many other highlights of 2012, Connor Brunton was crowned championship ‘A’ winner, while Fraser Renwick scooped the ‘B’ honours, and Callum Renwick won the Royal British Legion for best progression from academy to junior category.

Newly-appointed junior convenor Alan Reid thanked all the junior and academy section along with the coaches for their continued support and the excellent way that they conducted themselves during what had been a fragmented season.

The 2012 prize-winners were as follows: Front Room Cup – Callum Shields; Robson Trophy – Harry Forsyth; Rosebank – Fraser Renwick; Roxburgh Cup – Aiden Oldham; Jerry Foster – Gavin Lauder; Convenor’s Cup – Dean Gillan; Roy Thomson – Aiden Oldham; Dewar Cup – Murray Renwick; Messer Duncan – Jack Scott; Jubilee Trophy – Corey Wilson; MacLeod Glass – Aiden Oldham; order of merit – Aiden Oldham; Royal British Legion (progression from academy to junior section) – Callum Renwick; Teri Trophy (best contribution to the junior section) – Aiden Oldham; summer medals (most places) – Harry Forsyth; championship ‘A’ – Connor Brunton; championship ‘B’ – Fraser Renwick.
