Roxburgh Reivers made their mark in great style at last weekend’s double-header in the Trossachs.

The final round of the Scottish Urban League, which also incorporated a UK League meeting, was held over long and tough courses in and around Dunblane, and Roxburgh members produced an exceptional two of the 12 overall class winners in Kirstin Maxwell on women’s open and Lindsey Knox on women’s vet.

In fact, the club took three of the top four places on women’s open with Fiona Forrest in second place and Karen Maxwell in fourth. Eileen and Ian Maxwell also had solid runs to finish the league in third and fifth respectively.

The penultimate round of the Scottish League took runners to Aberfoyle, where Kirstin Maxwell had another terrific run to secure first place on W20, as did Douglas Tullie on M21, and Robin Sloan on M65. Fiona Forrest notched another runner-up slot, and there were third places for Karen Maxwell and Lindsey Knox. The series concludes this Sunday at Broughton with several Roxburgh members hoping for podium places.

The next local event is at Gala Hill, Galashiels, on November 10.
