Liam makes mark at Scottish schools event

HAWICK ASC swimmer Liam Caldwell dipped his toe in national competition at the weekend.

He was competing for Stirches primary at the Scottish schools meet at East Kilbride, where he acquitted himself well.

Liam qualified for the national event due to his performances in the 50m butterfly and the 50m breaststroke at the Border schools in November.

But as 12-year-olds are only allowed to compete in one event at the ‘Scottish’, Liam opted for the 50m breaststroke, in which he swam impressively to finish seventh overall.

Well Done Liam!

n last week’s report erroneously stated that Spectrum Disco provided the music at the club’s recent championship disco, when the firm employed to do so was Reflex Disco. Sincere apologies to all concerned.
