Juniors make the grade at belt advancement exam

Wado-Ryu club trio Owain Gray, Charlie Rae and Eli Hamilton were among the youngsters who were awarded promotion

Hawick Wado-Ryu Junior Karate Club’s recent belt advancement grading examination was conducted by Douglas Fowler (7th Dan Black Belt), and resulted in the following primary school members achieving promotion:

Junior yellow belt – Jamie Green, Owen Tice, Evan Tice, Roan Hair, Riley Muir, Angus Bell, Kyle Middlemass, Jay Scott, Charlie Woods, Findlay Woods, Louis Devlin, Liam Megahy, Seth Christy, Kyle Wright, Aidan Reilly and Charlie Bain.

Junior orange belt – Georgia Wood, Liam Jaffray, Emma Munro, Kayley Heard, Jodi Darling, Stevie Nichol, James Berry and Robbie Jack.

Junior green belt – Jack Howden, Hamish Bell, Ciaran Wood, Eli Hamilton, Owain Gray, Charlie Rae, Toby Gracie, Greig Oliver, Cassius Trinity, Preston Owens, Reece Lambert and Andrea Brennan.

Junior blue belt – Hanna Greig and Ellen Dobbie.

Junior purple belt – Liam Richardson and Megan Povey.
