Harriers battle frozen mud and biting wind

SATURDAY saw a small contingent of Teviotdale Harriers making the trip to Cupar for the east district championships, during which the conditions were tricky due to frozen, rutted mud and a bitterly cold wind.

Competing in the under-17 women’s category, Teviotdale’s Catherine Mercer was 18th in 26 minutes 52 seconds, while in the senior men’s race, Alan Coltman finished 203rd in 54.02.

the next Harriers event is this Saturday’s Menzies Trophy. Registration in the clubrooms from 12.15pm. First race 1pm. The following day, the Christmas Relays take place in Wilton Lodge Park. Races start at the museum from 1pm. Prizes for the best fancy dress and to all team members.
