Borders 3C Festival set to hit Buccleuch Park ground

THE Buccleuch Park cricket field will be the venue for the inaugural Borders 3C Festival.

The three Cs incorporate crossfit – the fastest growing sport in the United States, which attracts huge corporate sponsoring and their own unique games; combat –featuring local martial arts clubs doing their own unique demonstration events; and culture – stalls and trade, supporting the atmosphere of the event.

Promoter Darren Johnstone, who has put together the event alongside Neil Davidson of the RDAS crossfit gym in Selkirk, said: “The event will be running all day and at night takes on an evening of celebration with local bands and special guests enjoying the evening,

“We are trying to offer something a bit different on the day of the event, something that all of the family can enjoy and hopefully inspire our next generation of future athletes.”

There will be a submission grappling tournament for two weight categories to become Scottish Borders champion inside the fully licensed festival sized tent. And there will also be an appearance from the Royal Marines display team, who will be putting on a demonstration.

Anyone interested in taking part can contact Darren on 07584 043412 or Neil on 07903 239768.
