Former Rangers, Watford and Dundee United star Charlie Miller was in great form during a recent visit to the town, writes John Slorance.
Miller, who also had spells with clubs in Norway, Belgium and Australia, put 18 Hawick Youth players through their paces at a coaching session at the AstroTurf and he made a big impression on the youngsters.
Speaking to the Hawick News, Waverley footballer Luke Cooper, who helped arrange Miller’s visit, said: “Thanks to a friend I got Charlie to come to Hawick to coach youngsters from the Hawick Youth set-up.
“It was just brilliant. The kids loved it and learnt a lot from Charlie.
“He was impressed with what he saw and it was really good of him to come to Hawick to do a bit of coaching.”
Miller now runs his own football academy in Glasgow.
