Hawick United never came out of the traps at Wilton Lodge Park on Saturday and were soundly beaten by Jed Legion.
Matters went awry early on when Jed sailed into the lead through a well-taken goal from Dean Jeffrey.
Within minutes, Daniel Gillie added a second, and from here on the writing was on the wall for the Tangerines, who couldn’t gain any sort of foothold in the game.
Gillie then went on to complete his hat-trick before the interval.
In the second period, the visitors continued to dominate affairs, and Jeffrey tucked away two more goals to complete his hat-trick.
United’s David Strathdee said of the game: “Jed got an early goal and that was it, as we never really got going after this.
“We were slow at the back, while Jed had a lot of pace up front, and also knocked the ball about well, and we just couldn’t cope with this.”
