After suffering three defeats in a row, Legion returned to winning ways with a good all-round performance in Saturday’s Border Amateur ‘A’ Division match.
Speaking of his side’s triumph, Legion player-manager Mark Deans commented: “It was good to bounce back and get a win and we can build on this. Getting three points moves us up the table a bit which is good to see. I was pleased with our performance.
“However, we could have won by more had we taken our chances. We didn’t concede a goal, though, and I’m happy about this as we’ve been losing a few bad ones lately.”
Michael Moir put Legion on the victory trail when shooting home following good play by Euan Gray.
Moir then did the business again when waltzing round the Leithen goalkeeper to stick the ball into the net, after being set up by Chay Caldwell.
This brought an end to the first-half scoring.
In the second period, Callum Hope netted a third.
