Eyemouth United 5

Hawick Royal Albert 4

In a game that matched the bright and breezy weather conditions, Eyemouth got off to a whirlwind start by scoring twice during the opening exchanges.

The Fisherman netted their first with just ninety seconds gone.

Minutes later Eyemouth added to their tally following a move down the left.

Royalists came rallying back and Michael McKenzie reduced the leeway.

After United had regained their two goal lead, Andy Noble put the Albert back in the hunt before the interval when slotting a shot into the net.

Following the interval the action continued to flow and Gordon Ramsay got his name on the score sheet in putting Royalists on level terms.

The Albert then edged ahead for the first time through an excellent strike from Greg Summers who beat the Eyemouth keeper with a sweetly struck drive from 25 yards.

With quarter of an hour of the game remaining, United grabbed an equaliser.

Eyemouth were not quite finished though for minutes later they sent Royalists reeling by notching what was to be the winner.

Both sides ended the match with ten men as Albert’s Gordon Ramsay and a United player were both red carded following an off the ball scuffle.
