Having suffered a big defeat last week, Legion Rovers climbed out of the doldrums with a resounding win.

It was a victory that delighted Rovers manager Darren McElrath who said: “We needed a result and we got one. Our attitude was great from the start and the boys put in a great shift.

“Everybody in the side played well with Jordan Caldwell and Clinton Sharkey in particular being outstanding.”

Rovers looked the part in this ‘C’ Division match and after the Peebles keeper had saved well from Michael Moir, the Teries took the lead through an own goal. The visitors hit back to get on level terms. Rovers, however, were still in the driving seat and Matty Moule did the business with a shot that rebounded off the post before entering the net after cannoning off the Peebles keeper.

Rovers soon went further ahead through a Clarke strike, Jordan Caldwell then got his name
on the scoresheet in beating the Peebles keeper
with a long-distance free-kick.
