Hawick Royal Albert have announced the appointment of a four-strong managerial team for next season.
At the helm in the quest for stability at Albert Park following the resignations of two managers in the latter stages of the 2014/15 campaign is new boss Mike Atai.
Also joining the Hawick fold are Jason Girdwood, Dean Shanks and Barry Campbell, who go under a variety of titles. The foursome all hail from the Edinburgh area.
Team boss Atai is a former Bonnyrigg Rose, Spartans and Craigroyston goalkeeper. Being in charge at Royalists is his first managerial role in senior football.
A one-time Peebles Rovers manager, Girdwood is head coach, while Shanks is assistant coach and club football analyst.
Campbell, who had a spell as assistant manager with junior side Edinburgh United, will look after football operations and is the managerial team’s liaison man with the Albert committee.
Talking of matters, Campbell told the Hawick News: “It’s going to be a big challenge for us, but it is one we’re looking forward to.
“Hawick have a good ground and a good set-up, and I’d like to think we could give Hawick a team to match.
“Things won’t happen overnight, but we have a lot of thoughts, plans and ideas to get things right.”
Campbell added: “We will be looking to bring in new players, but we’re not wiping the floor with the present squad. Our first training session will be at Hawick on Saturday, June 13. And it would be great if local players came along as it would be an opportunity for us to see what they can do.”
Commenting on the club’s new appointments, chairman Jim Borthwick said: “The committee interviewed Mike and Barry and were very impressed with what we heard from them.
“They have a great outlook and came across as being very professional. And we felt that they were the right men for the job.”
