HAWICK 17s travelled to Duns for a top-of-the-table clash, having beaten Duns at home two weeks previously.

The young Teries were looking to take a stranglehold in the league and started the better team, and they got the lead they deserved when Colin Richardson reacted first to a loose ball at a corner to poke home the first goal. This stunned Duns into action and they levelled, so the teams went into the break at 1-1.

The hosts took the lead early in the second half and started to dominate the game.

But the turning point came from a Hawick corner when the ball fell to Teri defender Matthew Moule who rocketed the ball into the top corner to make it 2-2. And from here on Hawick controlled the game. They pushed for the winner and with 10 minutes left a nice passing move on the edge of the box culminated in Hawick’s top goal scorer, Euan Gray, slotting the ball into the bottom corner for his 20th of the season to clinch a superb 3-2 victory.
