Hawick Legion Rovers have a top-four finish in their sights, according to manager Darren McElrath, writes John Slorance.

The Border Amateur ‘C’ Division outfit, who are third in the table at the moment, are enjoying their best season for a while and today sees them hitting the road to face St Boswells.

McElrath said: “One of the main reasons for us doing well in the league and reaching the Collie Cup final is that for the first time in a while we’ve had a settled squad of youth and experience.”

McElrath continued: “We’ve also brought in new boys such as Craig McCutcheon and Colin Turnbull which has been for the good.”

Commenting on the St Boswells clash, he added: “They’re a very decent side but we’ve already beaten them this season and we’ll be looking to do the same again.

“At the start of the season we were perhaps hoping to finish mid-table, but we’re now going for a place in the top four.”
