Four hat tricks, three doubles and three singles – this remarkable match saw Hawick Legion record their biggest ever victory.

Legion assistant manager Tony Craggs said: “It was crazy stuff. It was just a nutty match, that’s the only way you can sum it up. We didn’t score our first goal until around the 25-minute mark. We got a second ten minutes later and then went on to score another five before half-time. The game was won by then but in the second half we weren’t complacent and went for more goals. Goals are important to us as goal average could count at the end of the season as we are going for the league and promotion.”

Liam Lavery (3), Euan Gray (3), Scott Duncan (3), Andrew McFarlane (3), Stevie Lowe (2), Jamie Dickson (2), Callum Hope (2), John Shankie, Gary Moffat and Euan Reilly (penalty) netted the Legion goals.

Another fact for the record books is that Legion’s Davie Fraser was yellow carded for the first time during his 19 years with the club.
