HAWICK motorbike ace Stuart Easton is looking to be back on board his MSS Colchester Kawasaki ZX-10R by the end of the year.
The 27-year-old suffered pelvic, leg and hand – as well as some internal – injuries in a horrific crash during a practice session for last month’s North-west 200 in Northern Ireland and was transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
But last week, following a rather scary trip on a very small plane, Easton was transferred to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he is in good spirits.
He said: “I’m definitely on the mend and although I am finished with road racing I hope to be back on a bike this year and aiming at testing in Spain in January.”
Easton was given a further boost when Hawick butcher Alister Pow sent up some special pies said to have healing properties. Stuart is not too sure about that, but was grateful to have some food from home to help him on the road to recovery!
