JAY Lamb is the 85cc small wheel Scottish Motocross Champion for 2010.

The title caps a memorable year for the youngster who also finished fourth in the British Youth Motocross Championship over seven rounds, despite mechanical failure costing him precious points in the opening round.

Throughout the season, Jay has been presented with the Top Gun Award for best performance in the fourth round of the British competition, while further accolades included the Dunlop Award in the fifth round and the Monster Energy Award in the first round for his determination.

Jay was also picked to race for the Scottish team competing in the 85cc and the 125cc class in Denmark at the Honest International 2010. The teenager was part of a team of 20 Scottish riders and one of only three to take points for their country.

And even through the winter months he has been busy, having entered the British Supercross in the 85cc big wheels class, finishing fifth in the first round at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, where he was sponsored by the Elm Guest House.

Next year he will be competing in the BYMX again, but in the next class up, the 85cc big wheels.

Jay is sponsored by Think Fitness, who have given him free membership and a dedicated fitness programme to prepare him for next season.

He would like to thank the gym, Ashley Cain, Border Aerial & Satellite Services, Orchard Farm Dairy, Brandon’s, Armstrong’s Garage and Martin’s Tyres, Langholm for their sponsorship.
