STEVE Porter's weekend racing at Knockhill ended in controversy when he was shoved off the track in the fifth round of the Scottish Motor Racing Club's XR2 Championship.
After suffering car trouble in the previous round, the 38-year-old enjoyed relative success in the first race, starting in 14th place and battling back to 10th.

But in the second outing things got a bit heated with a fellow competitor.

Steve said: "The guy thought I'd clipped him earlier in the race but I didn't. I checked my in-car footage and he just lost control. But the red mist descended and he ran into me seven times, eventually running me off the track altogether.

"He was disqualified and given three points on his licence, but he's lucky he wasn't banned altogether."

Porter, who set a personal best time of one minute six seconds around the Fife circuit, will return to Knockhill in two months' time to compete in the sixth round of the Championship.
