Warm praise for Hawick welcome The text below is a copy of my letter printed in the Cumberland & Westmorland Herald a couple of weeks ago. Two or three of my friends have since visited Hawick and are also full of praise. Perhaps it is worth letting your readers know.

Front page 'dismay' AFTER receiving my copy of the Hawick News while on holiday in Yorkshire, I was saddened and dismayed to read the front page of August 6.

Parents have a lot to answer for Last week's front page story on the unruly youths at Burnfoot brought to mind a pre-match interview in the 1970s between Bob Wilson and Brian Clough, during which the latter was asked what he thought about violence on the football terraces.
