RICHARD Burton will stand trial after being accused of a domestic assault.
The 24-year-old, of Backdamgate, is said to have thrown shoes at Kirsty Scott, forcibly held her down on a chair, placed his hands around her neck and compressed, and punched her on the head – all to her injury.
He also faces a second breach of the peace charge of uttering threats of violence and breaking a vase and photographic frames.
The offences are said to have happened at a house in Silverbuthall Road on February 3.
An intermediate hearing was fixed for April 4 before the trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court on May 2.
