Townsfolk invited to stride out for charity

Charity-minded Teries are being invited to pull on their walking boots to raise money for three good causes, writes Jason Marshall.

The 18-mile Hawick Circular Charity Sponsored Walk (The Reverse) will take place on Saturday, October 25, and the charities set to benefit are Cancer Research, the Anthony Mundell Memorial Fund and the Border Holiday Group.

The route starts at Mart Street at 9.30am, then Weensland Road, Ormiston, Lover’s Lane, Flex, Vertish crossroads, Haysike, Goldielands, Martin’s Bridge, Wiltonburn, Double Dykes, Whithaugh, Boonraw, A7, Appletreehall, Bucklands, Mansfield Road, and the Conservative Club at around 4pm for a buffet and refreshments.

Dogs must be on leads and are owner’s responsibility.
