AROUND 11,000 residents in Hawick are now benefiting from digital radio after a new transmitter was switched on.

Local MP Michael Moore has confirmed that the BBC transmitter at Crumhaugh Hill has gone online, boosting coverage for a further 7,000 people. He said: “I’m very pleased the Hawick transmitter is up and running and providing coverage for thousands of residents.”
