The town’s Common-Riding fraternity have clubbed together and bought a very special gift for stalwart Jim Hogg.

The Ex-Acting Father and former Common-Riding chairman, who suffered a horrific fall during Roberton Ride-out three years ago, is the thrilled recipient of a Motomed Therapy Trainer – which will help exercise his upper body, arms and legs – after several of the town’s clubs donated a total of £4,650 in recognition of his vast contribution to the Common-Riding.

Led by Hawick Common-Riding Commitee, donations were also provided by the Ex-Cornets’ and Ex-Acting Fathers’ Association, the Ex-Cornet’s Lasses, Ancient Order of Mosstroopers, Callants Club, 1514 Club, the Traditionalists, Hawick Sings, the Ride-out Working Party, and the John and Mary Elliot Memorial Trust.
