Teviothead hopes high

THE 62nd annual Teviothead Show goes ahead at Falnash Farm next Saturday, September 15. With last year’s sheep show cancelled because of the weather the organisers are confident that everyone will get back into the swing of things this year.

“Entries are looking good considering the year it has been,” said show chairman Alan Smith. “And hopefully an upturn in the weather will give the field a chance to dry up before next weekend. The show is one of the main events in the valley in the year and everyone rallies round to help.”

As well as an industrial tent there will be terrier racing, a dog show, hound trail, display by Hawick Scout Pipe Band and children’s races. There is a new trophy in the Blackface sheep section donated by the Anderson family at Penchrise in memory of the late Jim Anderson for the best female blackface group.
