TERIES have under two weeks to influence the future of television provision in the Borders.

A consultation by Ofcom, which gives two options on the amount of regional news programming on ITV Border, runs out on May 2

Both options would include restoring a dedicated local news service similar to that provided before the merger with Tyne-Tees.

However, the first would also include a weekly current affairs programme dedicated to the area. The second would include 90 minutes of other regional programming, likely to be bought from STV.

The consultation can be viewed here: http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/consultations/c3-c5-obligations/
