Young people in Hawick can now help form “a service they are happy with”, says a local participant of a new council strategy.
Teri teenager Fraser Knight welcomed an initiative that has been launched to provide increased opportunities for children and young people to be actively involved in decision-making on their care, learning, health and wellbeing.
The three-year strategy, entitled ‘Involved: The Participation of Children and Young People in the Scottish Borders’, was announced at a launch event last week that saw young people gather to showcase their local and national involvement and to celebrate their achievements.
Fraser, 15, said: “By holding this event, young people in and around the Scottish Borders can be promised a service they are happy with. It allows children and young people to have a say in what happens to them.”
