There’s still time to book for the Galashiels Mini Walking Festival, being held on April 30 and May 1.
The organisers are looking forward to seeing faces both familiar and new at this year’s event.
There is a choice of eight walks on the slopes around Galashiels over the two days and these include include visits to Cauldshiels Loch, Buckholm Tower, Yair Bridge and the Three Brethren.
See the websites for full details of available walks, including distances, and what you need to bring with you.Booking is required for all walks. Booking is through the festival’s website www.galawalk.co.uk or Borderevents by phone on 01750 725480.
Each walk costs £8, including transport where it is needed.
Chair Tracey Alder said she was very happy with the number of bookings in the first week and expected some of the walks to be full quite soon.
Also on the Saturday evening, April 30, there is a social event, open to both walkers and the public, with a buffet, bar and raffle.
Entertainment will be by the Bogie Close Stompers, John Nichol and the Ward School of Irish Dancers. This promises to be a fabulous evening in the Focus Centre.
