ALL nine local schools have taken part in the Flash Dance craze to mark 1,000 days until the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Scottish Borders Council’s Arts Development Team secured funds from the Games for Scotland programme to celebrate the Count Is In! event - which saw groups take part in a day of flash dances across Hawick last Thursday.

Teachers at Burnfoot Community School surprised pupils during assembly by starting a flash dance in the hall, Hawick High School pupils were amazed to see Headteacher Alan Williamson initiate a dance in the playground at morning break (pictured) and sixth year pupils performed to delighted members of the public at the Heart of Hawick. Morrisons customers were treated to a ‘Thriller’-inspired routine, whilst Burnfoot Youth Club entertained at Sainsbury’s.
