THE following applications were granted by Scottish Borders Council:

Yannan Fei, former Balmoral Bar, 1 Langlands Road – Conversion of first-floor restaurant to form two-apartment dwellinghouse, alterations to ground-floor layout to provide food takeaway with preparation area, staff toilet and stores.

Mr and Mrs Swinton, Wyndburgh Cottage, Langburnshiels – demolition of extension and detached garage, alterations to layout and extension to form new kitchen/family area on ground floor, master bedroom, bathroom/ensuite, stores and new staircase on first floor and erection of detached garage with store on first floor.

Mr and Mrs Geoff Mann, Station House, Saughtree, Newcastleton – alterations and extension to provide library with multi-fuel stove, entrance lobby and WC.

Mr Alan Clark, 27 South Hermitage Street, Newcastleton – alterations to ground floor layout to form new bedroom with ensuite shower room, and new external door opening from existing bedroom.

Mr and Mrs J. Pringle, Martinshouse Farmhouse, Branxholme – alterations to layout to enlarge kitchen, increase opening into sunroom, enlarge existing French doors, form new door opening and store in dining room.

Mr Kenneth E. Moffatt, Bowanhill Cottage, Hendersonknowe, Teviothead – alterations and extensions to dwelling to provide a heated domestic outbuilding comprising a garage, storage areas, WC and conservatory.

Mr D. Stirrat, 5 Roberton Place – demolition of porch and alterations and extension to enlarge kitchen.

Mr Kevin Webster, Cogsmill Schoolhouse, Stobs – extension to provide conservatory.
