Craig Motors held a Ladies’ Night with a difference at their Mansfield Road garage last week.

The Safety Evening focussed on basic car maintainence including oil checks, tyre safety, alignment and advice and wheel changing.

Speaking to the Hawick News this week, Davie Craig said: “This evening covered basic under the bonnet stuff which, if not maintained properly can result in costly repairs. Although it is not held specifically with women in mind, as anyone can come along, it is popular with women. It’s all about being aware and staying safe.”

Mr Craig, who has been trading at Mansfield for the past 7 years and employs five staff is set to hold another safety workshop on October 28.

Attending last week’s course, Jane Bannerman said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the manner in which it was run. It was relaxed but positive and instructive.

“Some of what I already knews was reinforced and I was made aware of how often we should check everything about our car in order to be safe on the road, especially our tyres.
