A MAN has been locked up pending trial after being accused of a domestic assault and robbery.
Paul Grieve is charged with attacking a woman and then stealing her handbag containing a quantity of money.
The offence is alleged to have happened in Hawick on Friday, November 18.
The 29-year-old made no plea and was fully committed for trial during a private appearance at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A motion for bail was refused by Sheriff Kevin Drummond and Grieve was remanded in custody.
