BORDERS-based initiative The Jack & Jill Market is to hand over all proceeds from their busy baby & kids market this weekend in Galashiels to the Borders Children’s Charity.

The charity, which helps children by funding needs such as clothing, furniture, bed, and bedding, has had 18 requests from Hawick totalling £3,060 in grants to children up to the age of 18.

The charity has virtually no overheads and 99 per cent of every penny raised goes to children in the region.

As well as donating all proceeds, the Jack & Jill Market will enable on-site voluntary donations of £1 from shoppers to help the charity.

The market opens at 10.30am until 1.30pm at the Volunteer Hall in Galashiels. Entry £1 for adults.
