POLICE are urging townsfolk to be vigilant following a spate of robberies in the early hours of Monday, writes Sarah Williamson.
The warning comes after properties in Weensland Road, Oliver Park and Heronhill were the target of several slip-in thefts.
A police spokesperson said: “If doors remain unlocked, windows ajar, and purses, handbags and other valuable items are left on open display, it only takes seconds to enter an insecure property or smash a window.”
And although police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the robberies, officers are still appealing for anyone to come forward who may be able to help with enquiries.
The spokesperson added: “There is still a quantity of cash outstanding, and we’d appeal to anyone who may have found cash lying around the immediate area to contact us.”
Anyone with information is asked to telephone the station on 375051.
