Police in missing man plea

CONCERN is growing for the welfare of a man reported missing in Hawick.

Kevin Shiel, of Noble Place, was last seen outside his home on Tuesday, September 10, and police are appealing for information to help trace him.

The 46-year-old requires medication for various health issues and it is unknown if he has taken any of the necessary drugs with him.

Mr Shiel is described as white, 6ft 2ins tall, heavy build, with short dark brown hair that is thinning on top. It is unknown what he waslast wearing. However, he may be in possession of a rucksack with purple flashes.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Kevin has access to money and is able to travel easily. He has previously visited various locations across the Borders, Edinburgh and into England to view art exhibitions, and we are eager to hear from anyone who believes they have seen him in the past week.

“Similarly, we would also urge Kevin to get in touch with police or loved ones as soon as possible and let us know he’s safe and well.”
