Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace a Hawick man reported missing at the weekend.

Thomas Johnstone was last seen at around 8.30am on Wednesday, October 15, as he left Borders General Hospital.

Since then the 64-year-old has not made contact with anyone and concern is now growing for his welfare.

Mr Johnstone, who has previously visited the London and Kent areas, is described as being white, 6ft 2ins tall, with short grey hair and a beard, and of muscular build. He was last seen wearing black trousers, and black and grey striped top. He is believed to be in possession of two bags, one with a Nike logo on it.

A Police Scotland spokesman told the Hawick News: “It has now been a number of days since Thomas was seen leaving the hospital and we are keen to trace him as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well.”

Anyone with information on Mr Johnstone’s whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
