Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Denholm that left many homes and businesses without power.
Today (Saturday) at around 12.30am, a blue-coloured Vauxhall Corsa left the carriageway near Denholm Bridge as it travelled from Hawick along the A698.
The vehicle collided with an electricity pole, and the male driver, along with his three passengers, were all taken by ambulance to Borders General Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
As a result of the collision, Denholm was without power for several hours and the road, which is currently closed while Scottish Power engineers make the area safe, is expected to reopen to traffic later this evening.
PC Gary Brown, who is based in Hawick, said: “Fortunately, no one sustained serious injury as a result of this incident. However, anyone who saw this vehicle prior to the collision is asked to get in touch with police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
