MOTORISTS thinking they can use Orchard Terrace as a thoroughfare are causing a nuisance to residents.
And now Scottish Borders Council is looking into erecting signage stating the bottom of the road is a dead end. SBC has previously put up a street name sign with a no through symbol, although this was felt to be inadequate.
They are now proposing a no through sign on a lamppost opposite the junction to Twirlees Road, or one further up Orchard Terrace.
Councillor Davie Paterson said: “If there was something to let people know they can’t get right down, it would help reduce the number of cars travelling this way.”
