BURNFOOT Community Council has pledged to revamp a dilapidated mural at Burnfoot Co-op in a bid to beat the vandals.
The artwork was designed by pupils in 2000 but has since fallen into a state of disrepair, and it was heard at a meeting this week that the store – currently undergoing a £100,000 refurbishment – needed to take action.
Chairman Richard Knight said: “It is in a bad way and we took it on the last time.”
Member Alec Martin commented: “I think we should push for the mural. History shows it doesn’t get vandalised.”
